With beautiful 75 degree weather today, we took our usual Sunday hike and a couple of friends joined us. But instead of my usual power hiking around a trail, we just meandered our way along.
We strolled along the trail, allowing other people to go ahead of us:
We stopped at a picnic table and snacked:
We let the kids stop and play together:
We climbed a rock:
Instead of Luke being on my back the whole hike, he wanted to be out and walking, and even though we were often behind everyone else, I didn’t mind at all. It was nice to watch Luke stop to gather rocks and then on the downhills, run as fast as his little legs would take him.
Luke fell a few times and the scraps he got didn’t even phase him:
I’m thankful for our meandering ways. It set a pace for the rest of the day and we just kind of lopped around, doing a bit of this and a bit of that all day, not worrying about the time or anything that had to be done or needed to be done or should have been done.
It was a really, really nice day.
